RADIO STATION PROJECT Project Lesson 1 - Summary of the Web Site Built with the Project Lessons

Students will be introduced to the project lessons in which they will build a web site for a fictional radio station. They will begin preparations to either build a replica of our "KRIB Rock & Roll of All Ages" web site using provided graphics, or build a radio station site of their own choosing using graphics they have created and a color scheme they have chosen.

Project Lesson 2 - The Foundation Page

In this lesson the students will set the layout of the page, insert 2 tables, the top banner and links. This page will then be used as a basis that other pages will be built from.

Project Lesson 3 - Home Page

Students will make the all-important home page, where visitors to the site will get their first impression of your radio station's web presence. This page will contain a background image, rollover buttons, images, and text.

Project Lesson 4 - Daily Broadcast Schedule

This page will display the daily broadcast schedule in an easy to read and understand table. Visitors to this page should be able to see when shows are aired, what DJs host the shows, and what type of music is played.

Project Lesson 5 - On Air Personalities

If listeners would like to know more about their favorite DJs, they could visit the On Air Personalities Page. This page will feature photos, biographies, and interesting facts about all the on air staff members.

Project Lesson 6 - Top Ten Requests

This page will also use a large, easily read table. Instead of using a color as the background of the table, students will use an image. This table will display the ten most requested songs of the week by the station's listeners.

Project Lesson 7 - Public Appearances

Students will imbed Flash movies into this page. The first will be an animated heading. The other two will be videos that promote events that the DJs will be appearing at. This page will inform listeners about when and where in the community the on air personalities will be visiting or broadcasting from.

Project Lesson 8 - Relates Sites

This lesson will teach students how to use the powerful Jump Menu option. These interactive menus will be placed throughout the page, each one linking to a common group of web sites of interest to our listeners.

Project Lesson 9 - Contact Us

Students will make a JavaScript Pop-Up window. This window will be a separate, smaller window that will "pop up" on top of the current page. This page will contain input fields and a "Submit" button.

Project Lesson 10 - Finalizing Your Site

Just a few things remain to ensure that your site is complete, error free and fully functional. This lesson will place the finishing touches on your site.
