Section 2 - Macromedia Dreamweaver MX

The most popular tool among web professionals for creating web pages is Macromedia Dreamweaver. This powerful can create, construct, and manage web sites and Internet applications. Dreamweaver also allows you to incorporate elements made in Fireworks and Flash into your web site.

Orientation Lesson 1 - Introduction to Dreamweaver and EduLaunch

Students will be introduced to what Dreamweaver MX is and how EduLaunch online lessons can be best used to learn Dreamweaver MX.

Orientation Lesson 2 - The User Interface: Understanding the Dreamweaver Layout

Students will become familiar with the Dreamweaver interface. This lesson is an introduction to menus, panels, windows, properties, and other components which are essential to using Dreamweaver MX effectively.

Skill Lesson 1 - Defining a Site, Page Properties and Views

Students will learn how to define a site on the computer's hard drive, set the basic properties of a web page, and use the three viewing modes.

Skill Lesson 2 - Using Tables to Align Images and Text

Students will use a table with invisible borders to hold images and text in designated areas of a web page. They will then learn how to set the properties of the images and text.

Skill Lesson 3 - Placing a Table Inside a Table

Students will use the first table they made, which is invisible, to hold a second table, this one visible in place on the page.

Skill Lesson 4 - JavaScript and Flash Rollover Buttons

Students will make buttons that use JavaScript to produce a roll-over effect and scalable roll-over buttons made with Macromedia's Flash technology. These buttons will be used to link other pages to the pages you have made.
